# sk164238 - High CPU load on the Security Gateway due to abandoned CPView sessions

## Symptoms

- * High CPU utilization is observed on the Security Gateway.
* "top" command shows multiple instances of "cpview" process (not to be confused with cpviewd), often running for long periods of time (10s of hours), however there is only one user logged into the gateway.

## Cause

Abandoned CPView processes continue to run even if the parent tty (SSH session) have been terminated.

Most likely scenario is if an administrator have been logged in into the gateway, and run a CPView session for a long period of time, and SSH connection terminated
