# sk163815 - "Dynamic Balancing was disabled due to state verification failure" log error

## Symptoms

- * SmartConsole shows this log:

  From a Security Gateway R81 and higher:

  ```
  
  Blade:          Dynamic Balancing
  Product Family: Network
  Type:           Connection
                  Alert
  Description:    Dynamic Balancing was disabled due to state verification failure
  ```

  From a Security Gateway R80.40:

  ```
  
  Blade:          Dynamic Split
  Product Family: Network
  Type:           Connection
                  Alert
  Description:    Dynamic Split was disabled due to state verification failure
  ```

  Example for R80.40:

* When running the "`dynamic_balancing`" (R81.20 and higher) / "`dynamic_split`" (R81.10 and lower) commands, their output shows that Dynamic Balancing / Dynamic Split is disabled or stopped.

* CPView \> **SysInfo** page shows "`Dynamic Balancing Status`" (R81 and higher) / "`Dynamic Split Status`" (R80.40) as one of these:

  * `Off`
  * `Off (Stopped due to State Verification failure)`

## Cause

The alerts above are symptoms of someone making configuration changes while Dynamic Balancing is active.

This may happen for one of the following reasons:

* Changes in affinity of CoreXL Firewall instances, starting or stopping CoreXL Firewall instances, and changing the number of CoreXL Firewall instances
* Changes in Multi-Queue affinity/mode, or changes in the number of RxTx queue weights

If you have logging enabled on your security policy, you may find the cause of error under the Error header in your smart console log.
