# sk163652 - "Cannot create a certificate: A Certificate with the same name already exists" error when trying to establish SIC

## Symptoms

- When trying to establish SIC with a Check Point object from SmartConsole / SmartDashboard, you see the following error:  
`"Cannot create a certificate: A Certificate with the same name already exists"`

## Cause

There was a previous attempt to add this object using the same hostname from SmartConsole / SmartDashboard. The SIC certificate was already created and it exists in the certificate repository.
