# sk162632 - simkern.conf file is missing after CPUSE major upgrade

## Symptoms

- * The "`No simkern.conf found; skipping`" line appears in the `/var/log/CPupgrade_post.elg` file after CPUSE major upgrade to R80.20 Take 117 or R80.30.  

* `simkern.conf` file existed before the upgrade in `$PPKDIR/boot/modules`, but does not exist in `$PPKDIR/conf` after the upgrade.

## Cause

One of the installtion scripts did not properly locate the *simkern.conf* file during the upgrade process.
