# sk159952 - Policy installation fails with "Error code 0-2000172-1"

## Symptoms

- * After adding custom Snort protections, policy Installation fails with error:  

  `
  Policy installation failed on gateway. If the problem persists contact Check Point support (Error code: 0-2000172-1)`  

* When running "fw load_sigs" on the gateway side, users get:  

  `[Expert@hostname]# fw load_sigs`  
  `

  fw_ciu_manual_update: load_sigs started, process 11450`  
  `

  fw_atomic_ips_cmi_add_signatures_start_cb: addTopicsFile: file not found - sd_topics.C >>Called from CipsPkg_load_pkg >>Called from initialize: Failed to initialize IPS package.`  
  `

  fw_ciu_load_signatures: cmi_loader_perform_update() failed`  
  `

  Signatures load failed`  
  `

  Failed to run update. error: N/A`

## Cause

After adding custom SNORT protections, the *custom_updates* directory may be not properly replaced on the Security Management side, causing a corrupted IPS package on the Security Gateway side.
