# sk157993 - "ntpd[xxxx]: sendto(yy.yy.yy.yy) (fd=zz): Invalid argument" appears in /var/log/messages, NTPD (NTP Daemon)  cannot connect peer

## Symptoms

- "`ntpd[xxxx]: sendto(yy.yy.yy.yy) (fd=zz): Invalid argument`" appears repeatedly in /var/log/messages, NTPD (NTP Daemon) cannot connect peer.

## Cause

An open socket descriptor held by the NTP daemon becomes invalid after an interface IP is changed. Using DHCP or manually changing the IP address can cause this issue.
