# sk156112 - BGP state is stuck on established, even if the peer is down

## Symptoms

- * BGP state is stuck on established, even if the peer is down.
* The Security Gateway side interface goes down, BGP hold-down timer works as expected and BGP neighbor goes down.

  On the other router side interface goes down, Security Gateway does not operate according to the hold-down timer and BGP neighbor does NOT go down.
