## Symptoms

- * Fetching topology in SmartConsole fails with error `"RunCommandInNgm('CreateNgmInterfacesCommand') failed"`:

* The following error message is seen in cpm.elg: "*A blocking validation error was found: IPv4 Mask length value must be in the range 1-32*"

## Cause

Scenario 1  
Conflict with the naming of the interfaces in the object and what is actually on the gateway.  

Scenario 2  
An interface on the Gateway does not have a valid subnet mask configured

Scenario 3

Additional symptom is a locked interface from a published or discarded worksessions, or non-existing worksessions.
