## Symptoms

- * "Could not convert socket to TLS" error message when sending email test in SmartEndpoint.
* In *$UEPMDIR/logs/server_messages.log* :   
  Caused by: javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not convert socket to TLS; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: com.ibm.jsse2.util.h: PKIX path building failed: java.security.cert.CertPathBuilderException: PKIXCertPathBuilderImpl could not build a valid CertPath.; internal cause is: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: The certificate issued by CN=Giotis-CA, DC=int, DC=jotis, DC=gr is not trusted; internal cause is: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Certificate chaining error

## Cause

Some of the certificates were not included in TrustStore. (A TrustStore contains certificates from other parties that you expect to communicate with, or from Certificate Authorities that you trust to identify other parties.)
