# sk153252 - SmartConsole shows "Error: 'Threat Emulation' is not responding" status for Threat Emulation

## Symptoms

- * SmartConsole shows "Error: 'Threat Emulation' is not responding" or "Error: unknown" status for one Threat Emulation Cluster Member.
* Output of "`# tecli`" command on the Threat Emulation Gateway shows one of the following:  
  1. `"daemon did not respond or not running!".`  

  2. `/opt/CPsuite-R80/fw1/bin/tecli: line 63: /opt/CPsuite-R80/fw1/teCurrentPack/temain: No such file or directory`  
  `
  /opt/CPsuite-R80/fw1/bin/tecli: line 63: exec: /opt/CPsuite-R80/fw1/teCurrentPack/temain: cannot execute: No such file or directory
  `  

  **NOTE:** The output above can also be seen on TED debug files (ted.elg)  
* `# ls /var/log/files_repository/Raw_Files/D100C612-9D05-48AA-9F2A-F8C42528F100/` shows a number that is lower than latest Threat Emulation engine version (Refer to [sk95235](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk95235&partition=General&product=Threat) for the latest Threat Emulation engine version).
