# sk152174 - "Interface cannot have network address" error message is shown when trying to push configuration to a Virtual System

## Symptoms

- "Interface cannot have network address" error message is shown when trying to push configuration to a Virtual System after adding a VLAN interface

## Cause

The IP address assigned to the interface is the actual network address of the segment.

For instance, x.y.z.104/29 is the network address and x.y.z.111/29 is the broadcast address of that particular /29 network segment. Therefore none of these addresses can be used.
