# sk151514 - Multiple database purging tasks do not complete, task progress does not change from "0% Purging data"

## Cause

There is a pending purge operation. Generally, this happens because of a server crash or a *mdsstop* during the purge process. As a result, when the server recovers, it runs the purge again. In this case, the pending purge has already finished, but it still appears in the pending table and locks the session.
