## Symptoms

- The output of 'top' shows high CPU utilization by one or more CPUs due to "us", but no single process can be identified as the cause of the high CPU utilization.

## Cause

The user-mode process in question does not consume high CPU all the time, but rather for a very short duration, hence it is not seen in the regular output of 'top'.
