# sk147560 - Policy installation fails on Spark Firewall with the error message: "Installation failed.� Reason: IP = X.X.X.X is not available right now"

## Symptoms

- * When a Quantum Spark appliance is not reachable or not yet connected (e.g. while deployment in "Management First" mode), the policy installation fails.

* Error message: "Installation failed. Reason: IP = X.X.X.X is not available right now"

## Cause

* Special statuses "Waiting for first connection from Security Gateway"/ "Installation pending" are supported only in the "On each selected gateway independently " installation mode.

* The Quantum Spark Appliance Centrally Managed Administration Guide starting from version R77.20.80 states in the section "Installing a Security Policy" you can select either method. However, if you select the option "Install on all selected gateways", this causes the policy install to fail instead of changing to "waiting for first connection" status.

## Solution

When you install the policy:

1. Select the installation mode **On each selected gateway independently**.

2. Install the policy.
