# sk147392 - Running 'sim ctl get int' or 'sim ctl set int' in VSX R80.20 result in a core dump

## Symptoms

- Trying to get or set sim kernel parameter in VSX R80.20 with *'sim ctl'* , crash 'sim' and create a core file. For example:  
`[Expert@Hostname:0]# sim ctl get int simi_reorder_max_packets`  
`
Segmentation fault (core dumped)`

## Cause

The '*sim ctl* ' command is obselete in R80.20. It is replaced by '*fw ctl get int \<Name of Kernel Parameter\> -a*'.
