## Symptoms

- * Malicious IPs protection is unable to pull IPs from dshield.org:

  ```
  # dynamic_objects -l
  object name : CPDShield
  range 0 : 0.0.0.1       0.0.0.1
  ```

* *stormd* debug certificate validation fails (see "debug" section in [sk21534 - How to configure and troubleshoot IPS protection "Malicious IPs" (DShield Storm Center)](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid= sk21534)

  ```
  [stormd 12091 1988893376]@SA[4 Feb 16:43:40][] CertValidHandler URL is 'https://dshield.org/feeds/block.txt'
  [stormd 12091 1988893376]@SA[4 Feb 16:43:40][] CertValidHandler match not found host = dshield.org , szCN = isc.sans.edu
  [stormd 12091 1988893376]@SA[4 Feb 16:43:40][] CertValidHandler FAILED
  ```

## Cause

"dshield.org" recently started accepting only requests containing an SNI field on the Client Hello.

Our SSL infrastructure doesn't send SNI on Client Hello. As a result, the Security Gateway is being answered by "isc.sans.edu", which shares an IP with "dshield.org."
