# sk145372 - ClusterXL member in down state with 'SIC failure' Pnote although SIC status is communicating

## Symptoms

- * ClusterXL member shows down state status with the following reason for state change :

  ```
  Event Code:CLUS-112600
  State change:INIT -> DOWN
  Reason for state change:FULLSYNC PNOTE - SIC failure
  ```

* SIC test between the Management server and the down member is "Communicating" .
* Sync interfaces connected via a switch .
* ClusterXL is down due to PNOTE: routed PIM Interface Down -\> Up transition

## Cause

The MTU of the Switch ports connected to the Sync interfaces is not identical.
