# sk144432 - VSX Gateway might crash when disabling VSX resource monitor

## Symptoms

- * Running the command "fw vsx resctrl monitor disable" or disabling VSX Resource Monitor via CPView causes crash of the VSX Gateway.
* The crash is more likely to happen in a system with large amount of Virtual Systems.
* The crash was noticed in OS version R76SP.50, but could also happen in other versions.

## Cause

When disabling VSX Resouce Monitoring, the OS releases memory which was allocated to this feature.

A race condition might happen when disabling the feature - that some of the Virtual Systems are still trying to access the allocated memory.

This race condition can lead to crash of the VSX Gateway.

In Scalable Platform, disabling the feature on all SGMs simultaneously - might lead to crash of the entire system.
