# sk144032 - VSX Virtual system mismatch with management database

## Symptoms

- The VSX gateway contains Virtual Systems that are not present within the management database This can be seen in the output of vsx stat -v and compared to the machines defined in SmartDashboard/SmartConsole. It's important to note that some Virtual Systems may be managed by another Domain Management Servers (DMS), it is therefore best to look for the VS objects in the Multi-Domain View.

## Cause

There are a few situations that can cause database inconsistencies.  

VSX Gateway object was created on the VSX machine, but does not appear in the SmartDashboard after SmartDashboard crashed

SmartDashboard crashed while creating/changing interface properties in a VSX Gateway / VSX cluster / Virtual System object

Deleted Virtual System still appears on the VSX Gateway due to crash in SmartDashboard during the delete process.  

A database revision control, or a vsx system backups was used, which caused a mismatch between VSX GW and the management configuration.
