# sk141292 - Advertising more than 100 routes to AWS Direct Connect peer causes BGP state to flap

## Symptoms

- * Using BGP to advertise more than 100 routes to AWS peer causes BGP state to flap, intermittently.
* Analysis of RouteD / BGP traces in routed.log, per [sk101399](https://support.checkpoint.com/results/sk/sk101399), indicates the following notification is received from AWS during BGP peer establishment:  
  `BGP RECV Notification code 6 (Cease) subcode 1 (unused)`

## Cause

Per [RFC 4486](https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc4486 "RFC 4486"), BGP notification 6, subcode 1 stands for "Maximum Number of Prefixes Reached."
