# sk140215 - Endpoint Security Client "FDE usage with FastBoot BIOS\UEFI option" issues

## Symptoms

- * " A required device isn\`t connected or can\`t be accessed" error message appears during the boot process.
* Peripheral devices not working properly in Preboot.
* Windows not able to start up even after Preboot was passed successfully.
* After a few successful boots, machine not able to boot to Preboot, with only black screen shown.

## Cause

In the BIOS \\ UEFI firmware, setting the option FastBoot to "Enabled" \\ "Activated" \\ "Minimal" could cause the above issues.

The list of models where at least one of above issues was encountered:

* HP EliteBook G1 \\ G3 series
* HP EliteBook G5
* HP Zbook series
* Dell Venue series
* Dell Inspirion series
* Dell Latitude series
* Lenovo ThinkPad series

Other models \\ vendors can be affected by similar issues too.
