# sk139872 - Error 27102 "Volume init failed" in console when FDE installation fails

## Symptoms

- * FDE installation fails with Error 27102 "Volume init failed" in console.
* Installation log shows "FDE Log: Found drive-type not supported by FDE , Error: bus type not supported. PartitionType: 65xxx. BusType: 16"

## Cause

**Environment:** Storage Spaces is enabled

Storage Spaces is a form of RAID.

Per the "Endpoint Security Server Admin Guide", Client Requirements for Full Disk Encryption Deployment:

For complete Full Disk Encryption requirements, see the Release Notes for your Endpoint Security client version.

Clients must not have:

* **RAID**.
* Partitions that are part of stripe or volume sets.
* Hybrid Drive or other similar Drive Cache Technologies.
