## Symptoms

- * SmartConsole fails to connect to the Management Server with error "`Unable to connect to server`".

* Output of the command `"watch -d $FWDIR/scripts/cpm_status.sh"` on the Management Server shows:
"`The server remain in initialization after reboot or cpstop;cpstart`"

* The *$FWDIR/log/cpm.elg* file on the Management Server contains this line:
`com.checkpoint.infrastructure.utils.runtime.CpAssertionError: `**failed to load SIC cert file**

## Cause

The reasons for the SIC error are:

1. Multiple certificates.
2. Corrupted database (previous revoke was not done correctly).

Run this command in the Expert mode on the Management Server (on a Multi-Domain Security Management Server, you must run it in the context of the applicable Domain Management Server) to understand if there are multiple *SIC_CERT* definitions or a corrupted database:

`cpca_client lscert -dn "cn=cp_mgmt" -stat Valid`
