## Symptoms

- * The user sees the following Windows error message in SmartEndpoint console:
`Check Point Endpoint Security Management has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program.`
* The SmartEndpoint console gets to 100% CPU and stops working with no error message or crash report presented.

## Cause

The console version and the server version are not compatible.

## Solution

Check the version of the console that is logging into the server, i.e., R77.30.

**In Windows**:

1. Open an administrative command prompt and use the command *cpinfo -y all*
2. This will output the server version and the installed hotfixes. You will need this information when contacting support because the installed hotfixes will appear as code names, i.e., Copper, Fermi, etc. If the primary server version, such as R77.20 or R77.30, is shown with no hotfixes associated with the server and you are using a different version of the console than the version shown here, search the support center for that version.
3. Contact [Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/).

**In GAIA**:

1. Access "expert" mode in an SSH or console connection to the server.
2. Use the command: *#cpinfo -y all*
3. This will output the server version and the installed hotfixes. You will need this information when contacting support because any installed hotfixes will appear as code names, i.e, Copper, Fermi, etc. If the primary server version, such as R77.20 or R77.30, is shown with no hotfixes associated with the server and you are using a different version of the console than the version shown, search the support center for that version.
4. Contact [Check Point Support](https://www.checkpoint.com/support-services/contact-support/).
