# sk132012 - External hosts are redirected to authenticate via Captive portal if Browser Based Authentication (BBA) is enabled

## Symptoms

- * External hosts initiating requests on port 80 against the external/public IP of the SMB appliance in order to access an internal web-server, instead are redirected to Captive portal when Browser Based Authentication (BBA) is enabled for the destination 'Internet'.  

* Security logs for these requests indicate a redirection to captive portal although they are originating from outside:

## Solution

A Support Engineer will make sure the Hotfix is compatible with your environment before providing the Hotfix.
