# sk130792 - "Update operation failed" error when trying to delete Security Gateway object from a VPN community

## Symptoms

- * After deleting Security Gateway object from a VPN community and publishing the change, an error message is received:  

  ` "Update operation failed"`

* Error "update operation failed" when trying to change pre-shared key in VPN community

## Cause

There is a "problematic" shared secret configuration on a VPN object - the database contains objects that are not valid.

## Solution

Perform #cpstop;cpstart on Management server to resolve the issue.

Also this problem was fixed. The fix is included in:
