# sk130374 - False alerts of Hardware Sensors on HP servers

## Symptoms

- Users receive many false alerts that temperature is above 0. For example:   

`Temperature sensor alert:
`  
`
chkpntTrapMsgText = Temperature sensor "Sensor_name": Temperature is 16`

## Cause

### **Note: This article applies to pre-R80.10.**

The sensors have no maximum and minimum values.

Example output of `"dbget sysEnv:all"` command, when 0.000000 are the max and min values:

`[Expert@Hostname:0]# dbget sysEnv:all`  
`01-Inlet Ambient, 25 , degrees C , Temperature , 0 , 0.000000 , 0.000000 , 01-Inlet Ambient`  
`02-CPU 1 , 40 , degrees C , Temperature , 0 , 0.000000 , 0.000000 , 02-CPU 1`
