# sk130272 - "Unnumbered virtual tunnel interface must have the same virtual IP as its physical device" error message when adding VIP to Unnumbered VTI interface

## Symptoms

- * Error appears in SmartDashboard when adding VIP to Unnumbered VTI interface: "Unnumbered virtual tunnel interface must have the same virtual IP as its physical device"
* This error message only appears once.
* Output of *cphaprob -a if* command on the cluster member does not show the VIP of the Unnumbered VTI.

## Cause

Unnumbered VTIs require the physical interface, on which the VTI is based, to be present in the cluster topology.

The VIP address of the Unnumbered VTI must be the same as the physical interface, on which the VTI is configured.
