# sk129492 - "Negotiation with site failed" error message when trying to create a site

## Symptoms

- * Remote access clients cannot connect to an R80.xx Security Gateway.
* "`Negotiation with site failed`" error in Endpoint Connect or in Secure Remote after the user has been authenticated during a connection attempt to a VPN Gateway.
* "`Negotiation with site failed`" error message when the user tries to create a site.
* VPN client logs "trac.log" shows these lines:
