# sk123793 - RouteD daemon crashes with core dump file when OSPF and large number of VTI interfaces are configured on Security Gateway / Cluster

## Symptoms

- * Routed process crashes, does not start, and generates core files, when OSPF and more than 90 VTI's are configured on the Security Gateway/ClusterXL.

* Cluster instability due to routed pnote failure.

* /var/log/messages contains messages similar to:  
  `
  routed[PID]: "message should have been complete"`  

  and  

  `"last message repeated X of times"`  

  immediately after, typically repeated tens of thousands of times.

## Cause

The amount of VTIs configured causes an issue with sync messages where an incorrectly sized message is generated that routed crashes when it attempts to send.
