# sk123594 - Cannot delete an object from SmartConsole because it is being used by a policy that does not exist.

## Symptoms

- * Deleting an object fails, as it is used by a Policy that was previously deleted.

* Right click on object and selecting 'Where Used' shows it is used by a policy that was previously deleted. Trying to open this policy fails.

* $MDS_FWDIR/log/cpm.elg shows:  
  `ERROR internal.operation.OperationSvcImpl [taskExecutor-14]: caught exception "Object `*Gateway/Cluster*` could not be deleted because it is referenced by other objects"`
* sk127232 did not resolve the issue.

## Cause

The problematic policy was cloned and deleted in one session without publishing the changes in between.
