## Symptoms

- * 'Gaia Portal \> Maintenance \> Maintenance \> Restart Appliance Services' does not start the necessary processes.
* Output of *cpwd_admin list* shows a partial list of services, as some services are not started.

  ```
  [Expert@HostName]# cpwd_admin list
  APP 		PID    STAT	#START  START_TIME 	   MON  COMMAND
  CPVIEWD 	22760 	E 	   1 	[21:59:31] 6/2/2018 N 	cpviewd
  HISTORYD 	22763 	E 	   1 	[21:59:31] 6/2/2018 N 	cpview_historyd
  CPD 		22766 	E 	   1	[21:59:31] 6/2/2018 Y 	cpd
  MPDAEMON 	22809 	E 	   1	[21:59:33] 6/2/2018 N 	mpdaemon /opt/CPshrd-R77/log/mpdaemon.elg /opt/CPshrd-R77/conf/mpdaemon.conf
  ```

## Cause

Executing "Restart Appliance Services" causes the *httpd* process to initiate *cpstop* followed by *cpstart*.

Although the *cpstop* phase is completed, during the *cpstart* phase the *httpd* process is restarted. This causes the *cpstart*phase to end prematurely.
