## Symptoms

- * "An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to..." error message pops up almost immediately after the user tries to log into R80.10 SmartConsole. ![](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/sc//SolutionsStatics/sk122073/Untitled1901030515.png)

* Checking the Security Management side, no connection is attempted and there is no log in the *cpm.elg* and *fwm.elg files*.
* *tcpdump* shows that no packet from the SmartConsole client is reaching the management server.
* *Netstat* and *Tcpdump* outputs show an open connection to the Security Management Server on port 19009.
* A tail on the Solr log (`tail -F $FWDIR/log/solr.elg`) does not show any activity or any lines added.

## Cause

The Windows client was modified (or "hardened") to use only TLS 1.2, while SmartConsole and the Security Management server use TLS 1.0.
