# sk121940 - "Endpoint Manager not started" error when launching SmartEndpoint

## Symptoms

- * `"Endpoint Manager not started"` error pops up when user launches SmartEndpoint console, after which the application crashes.   

* The server_messages.log shows:  

  `WARN - Attempt X to read token.txt failed, probably because fwm process is not ready and token.txt is not initialized yet.`  

  `
  FATAL - Server failed to start. Shutting down..`  
  `
  com.checkpoint.uepm.UEPMException: All attempts to read internal GSOAP session token have failed.`
