## Symptoms

- * When launching "Run test" option in "`asg alert`" tool on 60000/40000 device and using option "E-mail", the test gives following output:

  ```
  "Sending test Email...
  Test finished."
  ```

  Though, the e-mail is not received.

  <br />

* Command to force a test email shows:

  Syntax:

  ```
  #g_send_alert "THIS IS TEST ALERT ONLY" RUN_EMAIL_TEST <chassisID> <bladeID>
  Where chassisID - is ID of currently active chassis
  and bladeID - ID of SMO blade
  Example:
  #g_send_alert "this is TEST alert only" RUN_EMAIL_TEST TEST 1 1
  [DATE TIME] ---- send_alert called ----
  [DATE TIME] ---------------------------
  [DATE TIME] >>>Starting Email send<<<
  [DATE TIME] MESSAGE: [1_1] this is TEST alert only
  [DATE TIME] EVENT: Email.EventTypes.TestEvent, EVENT_ON: y
  [DATE TIME] Email subject is: [Email subject]
  [DATE TIME] Mail body will include: asg stat
  [DATE TIME] Aggregating email: (DATE TIME) [bladeID] this is TEST alert to Server1
  100% /var/opt/CPsuite-R76/fw1/conf/aggregate_emails.txt.Server1
  100% /var/opt/CPsuite-R76/fw1/conf/aggregate_emails.txt.Server1
  Operation completed successfully
  [DATE TIME] EMAIL_SERVER_IP: <SMTP server IP>
  [DATE TIME] SENDING_TO: <recipient e-mail>
  sendmail: option requires an argument -- 'f'
  [DATE TIME] EMAIL SENT
  ```

* Packet capture does not show any packets outgoing to the configured destination server and there are no drops on port 25.

## Cause

Configuration file $FWDIR/conf/alert.conf is corrupted - for some reason it does not contain a line:

*Email.Network.EmailSenderAddr=\<blade@61000.GW\>*
