# sk121359 - Unable to delete pre-defined IPS rules when upgrading from R77.30 to R80.10

## Symptoms

- User upgrades from R77.30 to R80.10 and is unable to remove the 'IPS' policy under 'Threat Prevention'. The 'Delete' option is greyed out.

## Cause

The users' policies are not modified automatically.

The user is the one to decide on his policy architecture.

So once the user gets rid of all of his Pre-R80 gateways that have IPS blade enabled, his policy will still remain as before.  

If MDS is used, all Pre-R80 gateways will have to be changed in order to remove IPS shared layer.
