# sk121353 - "Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS with authority << MGMT-IP >>:19009" error message when users try to connect to MDS or Security Management with SmartConsole

## Symptoms

- * Users cannot connect to a Security Management or Multi-Domain Management with SmartConsole.
* This error message appears: "`Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS with authority <`>:19009"

## Cause

**The user disabled TLS lower than TLS1.2 on the system where the SmartConsole is installed.**

For example, it is possible that the user did this to comply with regulations such as PCI-DSS. The change was made through the Group Policy Object (GPO) setting "**Computer Configuration** \> **Administrative Templates** \> **Network / SSL Configuration Settings** \> **SSL Cipher Suite Order**":
