# sk121131 - Port may go into "errdisable status" due to UniDirectional Link Detection (UDLD) condition

## Symptoms

- * A port may go into "errdisable status" due to a UniDirectional Link Detection (UDLD) condition. The "errdisable" status indicates that the port was automatically disabled by the switch Operating System (OS) software due to an error condition encountered on the port.
* Output of *cphaprob list* command shows that the state of 'Interface Active Check' Device is 'problem'.
* Output of *cphaprob -a if* command shows the problematic interface as 'Disconnected'.

## Cause

**Currently, all versions of Check Point Software do not support communication or configuration with "Cisco UDLD - Unidirectional Link Detection Protocol."**

## Solution

Check Point strongly recommends that UDLD be disabled on any switch port that is directly connected to a Check Point device.
