## Symptoms

- * Sometimes, output of "`pep show user all`" command on Identity Awareness Gateway does not show username in the "`Username@Machine`" column.

  *Example* - in the 2nd row, username is missing:

  ```
  [Expert@IdAw_Gateway:0]# pep show user all
  Command: root->show->user->all
  ID (PDP; UID)                       Username@Machine         CID (IP, PacketID)   PT
  ========================================================================================
  127.0.0.1      :00000000; 1bf25b4c  user@b-pc                192.168.176.230 , 00000000  -
  127.0.0.1      :00000000; 01e4b3e9  @win-ivjo2kdf9cd         192.168.176.100 , 00000000  -
  ```

* Identity Awareness Agent is *not* running on the client PC at this moment ("`win-ivjo2kdf9cd`" in the above example).

## Cause

This is expected behavior.
The "`Check Point Managed Asset Detection`" service (`MADService`) on the client PC is keeping the machine identity alive.

In select situations, it is considered normal behavior to see only the machine ID without the user ID present.

Possible situations:

* When the user logs off from his PC - only the machine ID will be seen on the Identity Awareness Gateway
* When Identity Awareness Agent is shut down (Closed) for any reason on the PC - only the "MADService" on the PC will continue to publish machine ID to Identity Awareness Gateway, while the Identity Awareness Agent does not send user name (because it is closed)
