# sk120656 - Cannot delete network objects on SMB appliances

## Symptoms

- * Unable to delete network objects in 'Users \& Objects' tab.
* "Invalid Input" error: "Cannot delete this object because it is in use. In order to delete it, first remove all its references".

## Cause

The network object is being used by one or more services.

## Solution

Check network objects use under the following locations:

1. 'Users \& Objects --\> Network Resources --\> Network Object Groups' -- check if the network object is defined.
2. 'Device --\> Hotspot --\> destination exceptions' -- uncheck the object you want to remove.
3. 'Access policy --\> Policy' -- check if one of the rules is configured with the specific object.
4. 'Access policy --\> NAT' -- check if the object has been configured on one of the NAT rules.
5. 'Access policy --\> QoS --\> Policy' -- check if the object has been configured on one of the QoS rules.
6. 'Threat Prevention --\> Exceptions' -- check if a rule is configured with the object.
7. 'VPN --\> Remote access --\> Advanced --\> Local encryption domain \[automatically according to topology\]' -- check if the object is defined.
8. 'VPN --\> Site to Site --\> VPN sites' -- in the VPN site configuration check if the Remote Site Encryption Domain is configured with the specific object.
9. 'VPN --\> Site to Site --\> Advanced -- Local encryption domain \[automatically according to topology\]' -- check if the object is defined.
