## Symptoms

- SmartEvent reports the warning "The contract \[xxxxxxx\] has expired. Please renew.

## Cause

The installed Service Contract file includes a technical support contract that is expired. Example SKU's for the expired support contract include:

* CPES-SS-STANCARD
* CPCES-SS-PREMIUM
* etc

This is a cosmetic issue, and does not impact production.

## Solution

To resolve this issue, the expired contract should be deleted:

* Access the command line of the SmartEvent server
* Run the following command to delete the expired contract, where the "x's" are the reported Support ID in the warning:

`> cplic contract del XXXXXXX`

* `Restart the SmartEvent service by running the following command:`

`> evstop;evstart`
