## Symptoms

- "Importing Snapshot Clish image_import: Error: failed to extract tar file" error log in /var/log/messages.

## Cause

The [Gaia R77 Versions Administration Guide](https://sc1.checkpoint.com/documents/R77/CP_R77_Gaia_AdminWebAdminGuide/html_frameset.htm)provides the following syntax for importing or exporting snapshots from clish, which may be interpreted differently by different individuals:

*set snapshot export VALUE path VALUE name VALUE*   
*set snapshot import VALUE path VALUE name VALUE*   

*snapshot export VALUE*   
The name of the image to export  

*snapshot import VALUE*   
The name of the image to import
