# sk120434 - Client Authentication failure with a blank page presented or Certificate warning page, depending on the web browser in use

## Symptoms

- * Client Authentication failure with a blank page presented or Certificate warning page, depending on the web browser in use.
* While using Internet Explorer - a blank page is presented.  
  While using Mozilla Firefox - a certificate warning is presented.
* Errors in `$FWDIR/log/ahclientd.elg` debug file:

  ```
  using cert nick 
  ca_new_connection: unable to get ssl params: Illegal seek
  ```

* Under `$FWDIR/conf/fwauthd.conf` see that a wrong certificate Nick was in use for Client Authentication "Port 900":

  ```
  
  900     fwssd       in.ahclientd    wait    900 ssl:
  ```

* In the Cluster / Gateway object in Smart Dashboard in the VPN section, under the certificate's Nick column there was no certificate Nick matches the as presented in fwauthd.conf. The Nick presented was and was assigned to a different certificate in use.

## Cause

Wrong certificate nick was used in *$FWDIR/conf/fwauthd.conf*.
