# sk119892 - Tunnel is up and ICMP packets are sent encrypted but no response received

## Symptoms

- * VPN tunnel is up and ICMP packets are sent encrypted but no response received from the other site.
* Nothing indicates the issue in logs and debugs.

## Cause

Super-netting is enabled by default on the Locally Managed appliance. VPN peers cannot resolve the advertized supernet.

## Solution

Disable the supper-netting on the Locally Managed appliance:

1. In WebUI, click the **Device** view.
2. In the **Advaced** section, click **Advanced Settings**.
3. In the top field, search for:  
   **VPN Site to Site global settings - Join adjacent subnets in IKE Quick Mode**
4. Select this setting and click **Edit**.
5. Clear the option "**Join adjacent subnets in IKE Quick Mode**".
6. Click **Apply**.
7. Re-establish the tunnel:
8. Connect to the command line on the appliances.
9. Log in to the Expert mode.
10. Run:  
    **vpn tu**
11. Enter the number of this option:  
    **Delete all IPsec+IKE SAs for a given peer (GW)**
12. Enter IP address of the peer and press the Enter key.
13. Press the Q key to exit the utility.
