# sk119278 - BGP neighborship breaks during policy installation on Security Gateway / Cluster Members

## Symptoms

- * BGP neighborship breaks during policy installation on Security Gateway / Cluster Members.

* Output of Gaia Clish command "`shows route`" shows that all BGP routes were removed.

* In the BGP configuration on Gaia OS, the "ping" option is enabled for the BGP peers ("`peer <IP_address> ping on`").

* BGP trace debug (flag "Normal" in the "BGP" module - see [sk101399](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk101399)) shows:  

  `bgp_ping_expiry(...): peer at X.X.X.X has reached ping count, closing connection`

## Cause

Interfaces are affined to CPU cores that work as CoreXL SND.

During policy installation, load on CPU cores can increase significantly.

If the load is not distributed between the CPU cores (e.g., large number of CoreXL FW Instances is defined, which leaves a very small number of CPU cores that can work as CoreXL SND), then CPU cores that work as CoreXL SND can become overloaded. Thise can cause issue with routes and traffic on interfaces that are affined to those CPU cores.
