# sk118000 - Identity Awareness AD Query causing high CPU usage on a domain controller

## Symptoms

- * The CPU on the domain controller reaches 100% and this causes latency and delays for other services running on that domain controller.
* The environment is large, utilizing a combination of ADQuery and Identity Agent for identity acquisition.
* The AD object is being accessed many times, generating large volume of events with event ID 4661.
* This occurs even with a lower priority for this domain controller set.
* There is a lot of traffic on the high port connection (WMI) between the DC and the Security Gateway.
