# sk117872 - Cluster Control Protocol (CCP) packets in multicast mode are not able to pass over Cisco N7K OTV

## Symptoms

- * Output of "`cphaprob state`" command shows that Cluster state of members is "`Active Attention`" and "`Down`".

* Traffic capture of CCP packets (UDP port 8116) on the problematic interfaces shows that CCP packets are not received from peer cluster members.

* Changing the CCP mode from Multicast to Broadcast per [sk20576](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk20576) resolves the issue.

* Cluster members are connected to each other over Cisco N7K [Overlay Transport Virtualization (OTV)](http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Data_Center/DCI/whitepaper/DCI3_OTV_Intro/DCI_1.html).

* Setting the value of the kernel parameter *fwha_ccp_use_mcast_base* to 1 per [sk115142](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk115142) does *not* resolve the issue.
