# sk117737 - Gaia OS sets the timezone to "UTC" when the zone is entered with a space character in the "sysconfig" menu

## Symptoms

- The timezone on Gaia OS is set to "UTC" when the zone is entered with a space character in the *sysconfig* menu:

1. Go to the *sysconfig* menu:  
   *\[Expert@HostName\]# sysconfig*
2. Select *(4) Time and Date*
3. Select *(1) Set time zone*
4. Select *(11) I want to specify the time zone*
5. Enter the timezone with a space, e.g., "GMT +2" (instead of "GMT+2")
6. The timezone is defaulted to "UTC"
