# sk117715 - "Failed to change [CMA_IP]" error

## Symptoms

- * User is attempting to change IP address of MDS by following [sk74020](https://supportcenter.checkpoint.com/supportcenter/portal?eventSubmit_doGoviewsolutiondetails=&solutionid=sk74020) for R80 MDS. After performing Step 8 of the procedure the error "Failed to change IP of \<CMAName\> from to \<NewIP\>" is received.
* **Scenario 1:** The file `$FWDIR/log/cpm.elg` contains the following lines:  
  `java.lang.ClassCastException: com.checkpoint.objects.classes.dummy.CpmiGatewayCkp incompatible with com.checkpoint.objects.classes.dummy.CpmiHostCkp`
