# sk117615 - Users defined for both LDAP and RADIUS fail to authenticate via RADIUS and their connection is dropped with a "wrong username or password" error

## Symptoms

- * Users defined for both LDAP and RADIUS fail to authenticate via RADIUS.
* Connections are dropped with a "wrong username or password" error.

## Cause

The user's authentication does not reach the RADIUS server. The flow would be:

1. Locally defined

2. LDAP

External Profile (such as RADIUS)

Since the user is defined on both LDAP and RADIUS, LDAP is matched first but since the user is included in the radius group for authentication methods - the connection is dropped.
